The origins of Table Tennis, also known as ping pong, go back to the 19th century and lie in East Asia. But the sport developed in what it is today by the introducing by English engineers of the celluloid ball and the with pebbled rubber covered wooden paddle around 1900. Table Tennis is the second most played sport in the world, mainly because of it's enormous popularity in China. The International Table Tennis Federation was founded in 1926.
