Synchronized Swimming

Synchronized swimming is a hybrid of swimming, gymnastics and ballet. It involves competitors (either individuals or teams) performing easthetically pleasing and difficult movements while in the water. Competitors point to the strength, flexibility, and endurance required to perform difficult routines. The sport developed during the first half of the 20th century in the midwest of the USA. Synchronized Swimming is sanctioned by the Fédération International de Natation Amateur since 1954. For more info see Wikipedia.
