Skeleton

The first sleighs were probably build already by the indians in North America. In 1885 the first icetrack was build in Cresta, near St. Moritz in Switzerland, and with that competitive sleigh-racing began it's course. Skeleton is mainly different from Luge in the fact that the riders go head-first down with skeleton. Skeletons are sleighs without steering and braking functionality. The Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Toboganning was founded in 1923, and facilitates both Bobsleigh and Skeleton. For more info see Wikipedia.
