Roller Figure Skating, or Artistic Roller Skating, is a sport where competitors perform their routines with balance of strenght, precision and artistry. Since the invention of the quad roller skates in the 19th century, artistic skating has been performed. In the 1930's the first international competitions were organised. There are competitions in the following categories: singles, pairs and dance. Roller Figure Skating is governed by the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports, which was founded in 1924.
