The earliest origins of the game of Polo can be tracked to 3100 B.C. in India, where under the name 'Sagol Kangjei' a similar game might have been played. It's also possible that the origins date back to 525 B.C. in Persia, where this game was played under the name 'Pulu'. Modern Polo dates back to 1859 when the first Polo Club was founded in Assam, India: Cachar Club. Polo is played with teams of 4 players. It's played from horseback with ball and hits on the biggest playing fields in sports. A field can be up to 274x182m. The Federation of International Polo was founded in 1985.
