Intercalated Games
The first and only Intercalated Games took place in 1906 in Athínai in Greece. The plan was that in between Olympic Games there would be intermediate games held in Athínai, but after 1906 organising another Games failed and after World War I the idea was given up entirely. This one time event was not fully recognized as Olympic Games, although its status has been subject of discussion over the years. To end that, the IOC has retroactively downgraded the 1906 games.
