Golf is a outdoor game where each player has to play his own small ball into a hole using various types of clubs. Competitive golf courses consist of 18 holes. Many holes include hazards, namely bunkers, from which the ball is more difficult to play than from grass, and water hazards. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. In match play two golfers (or teams) play holes as a separate contest against each other, in stroke play every player records his own own number of strokes, and usually a contest goes over 4 times completing the course. Professional Golf has organised itself in several players associations and pro tours. The International Golf Federation was founded in 1958 to govern amateur Golf.
