Dance Sports
Competition dancing was originiated in the 1930's in cities like Paris, Berlin and Baden-Baden. Dancing involves five major disciplines: Standard (Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot and Quickstep), Latin (Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive), Ten Dance (Combined), Formation Dance and Rock'n'Roll. Professional Dancing is governed by the World Dance & Dance Sport Council, whish was established as the ICBD in 1950. The governing body for amateur Dance Sports is the International Dance Sport Federation, which was founded in 1990. Rock'n'Roll dancing is governed by the World Rock'n'Roll Confederations, which was founded in 1974 as the ERRC.
